Hello everyone. This thread will give you a quick overview on all the large ruling families of Deynor and will especially give you important information that you will require if you ever play a character related to the plot, including religion, language, titles and already existing characters in that family.
Most of the families are open to having as many relatives as wanted. However, if you are playing a character in one of the families, kindly make it a point to read the histories of the other members of your character's family.
--------------------------------------------------
ILLIRIA, NORTH/EAST
Ruled by the Senate formed by Aranion, the first of his name, the country of Illiria covers the North and the East parts of the previous Empire. The Senate has 150 members, called senators. 50 lords and ladies of the court, 50 men and women from the lowest classes and 50 soldiers that tend to military matters. Elections happen every ten years. The Senators form the laws and pass jurisdiction on others. There are three head senators. The voice of the Empire (one lord/lady), the voice of the masses (man/woman from lowest class), the voice of the army(one high ranked soldier).
Characters:
THE WEST
Ajurah, the clan of the winds
After many years, the Rajegh that had once sworn allegiance to the Crouching Tiger of the West rebelled and formed their own clan. They mostly live on the highest peaks of the Uncha, occasionally attacking the other clan. They live peacefully on their own terms, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. They are fiercely loyal to their leader, who is traditionally a woman.
Bervenhall, the clan of the forest
In reaction to the creation of the Ajurah, the other races under the Crouching Tiger rebelled and formed their own cruel clan. They are fierce supporters of the Night Mother Goddess. Every race is acceptable in their ranks as long as they have a thirst for fighting.
Characters:
THE SOUTH
Sioure
Sioure is ruled by their King, a man who is as fat and slovenly as he is calculating and ruthless. While the king my rule Sioure in name much of the work fall to his underlings as he is far too preoccupied with other matters to attend to his kingdom. Underneath the High King are the great lords, there are three of them to be exact. Each one rules his landholdings in the name of the high King, pay taxes to the throne, and in times of war are required to pledged their forces to the King¢s cause. Aside from that they are left alone to rule their land¢s as they see fit.
The three holds of Sioure are:
Riedel - The economic center of Sioure Riedel the central most hold. With the many ports, including Sioure¢s largest port, dotting its southern coast and the routes through the Uncha Peaks along its northern border Riedel is by far the richest of the three holds. Since they control much of Sioure¢s trade their leader has the most pull with the King.
Casticus - The eastern hold and most war centric of the hold, Casticus boasts an army that can nearly challenge that of the King, though of course the King himself is oblivious to this fact
Medria - The odd man out as far as the struggle for power goes is in the west. Though the Medria has a tendency for producing Lords and Ladies who are quite politically inclined and are usually able to keep themselves in favorable positions regardless of their limited wealth or military strength.
The capital of Sioure Jakusta is the seat of the King.
Characters:
ENDEN
The Lords of Enden, a group of islands on the south-east coast of Dheynor, have always been known for their richness and their ruthless bargaining. They have traded with Dheynor for years for dyes, spices, jewels and textiles. In return, they give gold and silver, which is found extensively in Enden. Their High King is building the biggest war fleet this world has ever known.
Characters:
CHREINA
The way through the baraf mountains is open, and the 5 chreinan clans are ready to destroy Dheynor. Chreinans are now ruled by the five leaders, the leaders of each clan. Their language is the ancient Samai (the only reminder of the prince of chreina). They have no special gods, they mostly worship animals or elements.
