Hello and welcome to Dheynor!
Before you proceed further on this forum, please take a moment to read through some of our basic rules. If you still want to shorten your reading, kindly skim through the rules by reading the parts in bold. Detailed information about the rule may be found by going through the entire rule.
________________________________________
General
• Respect your fellow members and the staff: We are all mature individuals here, and therefore we would request you to behave like that. Trolling, harassment, discrimination, insults and fights are not welcome here. We request you to restrain personal drama to personal messages with the admins, and to keep this forum as it is - a friendly community. Differences of opinion are natural, and as long as they remain constructive discussions and not arguments, they are welcome.
• Follow the Proboards Terms of Service: When joining this forum, you agree to the Proboards TOS. As we use their service, we request you as a part of our forum to adhere to this at all times.
• Please use only English: Since we cannot moderate in other languages and thus control the content on this site, we request you to post only in english. Of course, a few words here and there are alright, but kindly refrain from posting long messages in any non-english language.
• This forum is rated PG-13: Any content which does not satisfy this rating should not be on this site, and this applies to Personal Messages too. Please note that this is a rule of Proboards in the aforementioned Terms of Service.
This has also been clarified as a 2/1/1 rating. Please click here to know more.
Cbox
• Respect each other: Our members come from different backgrounds and different walks of life. Please respect your fellow players' views and opinions, and drop any uncomfortable subject if they ask you to. Also, keep it friendly and try to consider your wording before posting it. Being a diverse site, we entertain members from all walks of life, and we request you to give everyone the respect they deserve.
• Be Mature: Everyone is different. Not one person is exactly the same. As stated in General Rule #1, we are all mature adults here and should behave like that. If there is a problem, deal with it as an adult. So no bickering, arguing, fighting, etc. If you need something, PM an admin.
• Keep topics PG-13: This is a PG-13 site, and this applies even to the cbox. Kindly keep things clean. If you wish to discuss something that might be inappropriate, take it to the site's etherpad.
• An argument is not a discussion: We don't mind healthy discussion, but if we feel the situation has gotten out of control action will be taken. So please play nicely, and if asked to stop - stop.
Roleplaying
• We do not have a word count: We encourage all types of roleplayers, and are strong advocates of the policy that your word count does not determine how good a roleplayer you are, but we encourage you to make an effort to give people enough to reply to. We have no other word-count requirements.
• One character per account: If you create a new character, please create a new account. Also, each account's display name MUST be the name of your character.
• You may have up to three characters and more with admin permission: You may have multiple characters, as long as these do not go beyond three per person. However, if you would like to create a new character after reaching your limit of three, please PM an admin. If you are active and we (and you) feel you can handle another character, then we will be pleased to let you create one.
• General roleplaying rules apply: General roleplaying rules such as no god-modding [ie. being unbeatable in battle, letting your character know or do stuff they have no way of knowing or doing or controlling other people's characters]; no perfect characters [otherwise known as mary-sues, these characters are amazingly powerful and wonderful and perfect and irritate everyone]; and no breaking the natural limitations of your character's race [for eg. if all dragons are weak against water, your character cannot be the only dragon that is not] still apply. Please roleplay in third-person and past tense only.
• Feel free to have NPCs: Do you need a character to complete your roleplaying - an innkeeper, a pet, or even an army to battle, but no one will/can play the character? Well, you may then use an non-player controlled character, which you make up on the spot without any application and which you can control. This will not be considered god-modding, as long as someone else is not playing the character at that time.
• Your application must be accepted before you start roleplaying: Pretty much self-explanatory. You must put a character application and have it accepted by one of the admins before you start to roleplay. Posting in the OOC areas while waiting to be accepted is perfectly acceptable.
• You may have more than one thread at a time: This means that your character can be in two threads, but not at the same time. For eg. if your character is in a thread in the market and in the mountains, please mention in one of the threads which one occurs first and which occurs later.
• Scenario and Battle Rules: Can be found in this thread. However, essentially, please remember that all battles, personal or large-scale, must have a pre-determined outcome before the battle starts. If you cannot reach an amicable outcome, please talk to an admin.
• If you have been inactive for over thirty days without intimation, we will move on the plot: In the interest of not allowing the game to stagnate, we will make you inactive after thirty days. Your character will be NPCed out of the main action, and you may lose any claims. While we will be happy to welcome you back, we request you to understand that you will have to explain your character's absence in a reasonable manner on your return. Any and all IC actions you take as a part of the site will remain site-canon even if you leave.
Signature
• Your signature must not stretch the forum: An acceptable maximum is 500 pixels by 300 pixels, though you might want to keep it smaller than that.
• Advertising must be restricted to its proper board: Advertising your own site/forum is only allowed in the advertising board, not in your signature or through private messages. Please report any member sending your advertisements through private messages to the admins.
• You may use anime pictures or celebrities as your character's face: You may use animation pictures, drawings or celebrities to portray your characters, only please make sure not to use people who are not famous. Also be careful of copyright on any pictures you might use. We do not insist on a picture. You are free to use anything from your own drawings, to nothing at all, to portray your character.
Official Warning Policy
• Informal warning: Your first warning will be an informal staff warning, asking you to stop or start something. It may be communicated via PM, cbox, or via any other means that the staff finds convenient. If your warning was related to a c-box offense, it may also involve a temporary ban from c-box.
• Official warning: Repeat offences will lead to an official staff warning. This is the last warning you will be given, and it will be communicated that this is an official warning.
• Official action: After your official warning, the staff can and will take any steps we feel necessary to ensure compliance with the rules.
Thank you for reading these rules. I hope you will decide to join our site and that you will enjoy your experience here.
